Photos are not very good, not much natural light in the room, but I think they are goood enough to get an idea.... These are some of my Portuguese painted furniture, everything was made by myself with yhe exception of the cupboard, I have this piece and decided to paint it and also to put some details...
Now, I must finish theroom- boxes and probably make more chairs, bedcover, rugs and so on!

Forever Fabrics is my new blog just for my fabrics. It is already on-line, but since I have more then 250 fabrics in my stock, I must still complete the blues, reds and greens...
However, you can see the Christmas and Children collections, the creams and yellows, the browns ...and the blacks and greys.
Now, it is very easy to pick up what you want, each fabric has a number, you just write down the numbers of the fabrics you want and send an email to me! I will tell you the price, including the P&P to your country.
Another good thing, the on-line Forever Fabrics catalogue will be always up-to-date!!!! (when a fabric is sold out I will remove the picture immediatly).

All pieces are almost ready to paint, but first they will be cover with a thin layer of acrylic gesso, sanded, cover again, sanded, to obtain a smooth finish, only after this operation painting will be done. In the photos some of the pieces were already treated in this way, as you can see by the "white" colour. Times seems short to do everything before Christmas, so , let´s work!!

Until Christmas I must finish 3 sets like this one, all for the same customer, a grandmother that´s want to give them to her 3 grandauthers, I will use different colours, but maintaining the typical colours of these Portuguese painted furniture from Alentejo....So lots of work to do during the next week-ends...

I have just received these lovely fabrics which pattern stripes and flowers are a classic. I am in love with the first one, that instead of the flowers has tiny strawberries . This is a bedcover I made for a customer from Tasmania, that bought me several items on my Etsy shop. The bedcover and the two tiny cushions are double faced and the set is for a bed I make (not the one in the pictures), maybe some of you remember the bed with the inlaid flowers, which photo is in the top (left side) of my blog. The fabrics are from from my "blogshop", and are from the Civil War Tribute Collection, a collection of lovely American fabrics which patterns are reprodutions of 1800's real fabrics.

Since I have nothing new to show, I decided to post some pictures about things I made when I begun with miniatures, about 6/7 years ago. At that time I couldn´t make my own furniture, so I bought some non-painting inexpensive furniture which I decorated. This set was to offer to a little girl in her 6th aniversary, and I did everything you see. The rug was made in a small real loom, the pillows were hand-made and embroided with a heart and a butterfly , the pink bed-sprad was made in tricot. I put everything in a beautiful box with a very beautiful bow....well can you imagine the face of the little girl when she received and open it...

From this beautiful fabric I just have only one piece, this is a very hard to find Toile de Jouy in a very tiny pattern, it is real at 12th scale....I have been looking for more like this, in other colours and patterns but all I have found are just too big.

This is the third patchwork bedcover I finished for the same customer, I must confess that during the next months I don´t want to make another one!!!! I am tired of tiny squares of fabric! You can see the other two, here in my blog in the right side column. I hope you like them. The bedcover is for a black bed, a kind of lackered black bed, decorated with tiny red, gold and green flowers, a kind of chinese style inspiration.

I love teapots, in the real life I have a quite huge collection, most of them are in a cupboard in my living room....and last December, the very well known Brazilien miniaturist Regina Passy-Yip and her daugther came to Lisbon as tourists and I met both. Regina is the most sweet and wonderful person, we all had dinner here at home, it was just fantastic. of course she saw my teapot collection, and now she has made to me these wonderful tiny teapots, the gigger is just 1.8 cm, yes 1.8cm!!!!!! I am in love with all, just see the super tiny teapot in the lid of one of them. I want to make a cupboard similar to my real scale one to put them there.

I have been playing with that stuff for making molds, one part blue other white and I have now several molds...and here is the result. The bowls at the top right aren´t made with molds, they are an experience for making some "contemporary decorative ceramics", my own design....well I must improve, but for the first experience I like them.

Last friday I bought these two greenhouses, the glass is very easy to remove if I want to create a wall, or to make a roof. Aren´t they great to make miniature scenes? I put a 5L bottle in the photo to give an ideia about the dimensions. I am really excited with these little greenhouses.

Yes, my second attempt makes part of a complete bedroom set, ( I am still gluing the bedside cabinet .....) inspired in a Portuguese painted furniture from Alentejo. This furniture is typical from that region of Portugal and I think is lovely, so I decided to make a set to the fair. If you have time, search for images about Alentejo, the typical rugs from Arraiolos and also the painted "Alentejana" furniture. The pieces will be decorated in the same way as the chair, and the set includes the single bed, the chair, the mirror frame with a mirror and the bedside cabinet.

The bed is painted in in the front and in both interior panels, being the front more ornamented as can be seen from the photos. The colours, the aging and decoration intend to create a romantic style, but simple, for a little girl room. (click on the photos to make them bigger to see the details).

With some painted flowers, as you can see both sides of the bed are painted, for the case we want to it with the headboard against the wall. I like it as it is in the first and last pics.Now I need to make some cushions to go with it. The bedcover, I can change the colour since I have the same kind of fabric in several colours (greens, yellows....) I like the orange because is bright and bring some light to the bed.

This is another piece of furniture for the country collection, a drop leaf table (I think this is the name in English, if not please correct me....).. in Portuguese is a "mesa de abas"
It is always nice to have one like this, speccially if you are lacking room, you can put it closed, against the wall, and open it just when you need! Like in real life!

I found this reading Casey´s blog , there is now available working lights that have a tinybattery incorporated and leds, no need to have a transformer or wires around the house, or holes in the wall etc. you can put it just where you want!!!!!

In the photos you can see the tiny switch, to operate the lights, and it is clear where the battery is incorporated.

This is an upholstered chair that I made based in patterns from a Japanese dollshouse book. I am not very happy with the final result, but I have learned a lot! One thing I learned is that is very difficult, almost impossible (at least for me) to get ride of the ruffles in the back chair, because the seat is round, I tried to strech the fabric as much as possible, but the result is always the same, ruffles!!!!!!!!!!!! so, now i am trying to make another kind of upholstered chair, complete different design....

What I love to do.....home-décor in 12th scale, and here it is my last work. Today I finished the table, my own design , made from scratch. The only things that aren´t mine are the 2 terrracota pieces under the table, everything else is made by myself. The table in the right side I make it some time ago, and now I decided to make the other kit I had. These tables are made from kits that my younger sister brought me from US. I have just built and painted them. The table lamp is also made by myself.

Do I paint anything more? what do you think? I left some space free on the top to paint the shop name if the buyer wants to, and also for the initials of the shop´s name on the lozengles. Because this is for a shop, I think the painting must be not very heavy, because the shelves will be with items for selling. It is important not distract the customer LOL!!!!!

After painting the all thing, in the same way of the other one I showed in the previous post, it is now time to make some decoration....so, topiara or flowers?

I have already decided, but about the center, what do you think about it? just like it is, may be to put the initials of the shop? a few tiny flowers, may be some daisies?.....

This is a nice piece to put in a shop. It was carefully painting, to achive a very smooth surface, and the ivory baseoat with the yellow mustard colours are quite neutral, so no problem with matching with other things.

This is the result of my crackling experiences, I hope you like it, I am really very happy with the result.

The frames are made of wood, the final result is just like crackle "china", quite difficult to take a good pic, but click in the picture and you can see a little better...

Isn´t it fabulous!!!! this is the front of a shop in the Oporto town (the second bigger town in Portugal). The words in the façade mean "tea" in the left and "coffee" in the other side. In the center the name of the shop "the Pearl of Bolhão", being Bolhão a place in the city...I am really in love with this shop.

I have two of these white metal beds which I bought quite cheap, with the idea of painting them. Because my friend didn´t like the woooden bed that came with the collection (see my last posts), I remembered that I had these beds and I decided to make an experience and here it is the result. I painted the bed with these paintings from Vallejo, there are lots of possibilites in terms of metal finishing, I choose tin for the bed and brass for the top of the bedposts.
They can be used directly in plastic, metal and wood and are in gold, gold, silver, copper, copper, brass, bronze, tin, etc and they are sold in the model shops to paint those figures in plastic or plomb for the dioramas. I hope you like the result...as much as I do.

A beautiful Portuguese house façade with our typical blue/white tiles, in the city of Aveiro.

This is a fantastic photo of a front shop in a beautiful town in the north of Portugal, Guimarães. It will be nice to make it in miniature.............

I put everything in the kitchen table and I made some experiences with the exterior arrangements, to see how it looks. As you can see the house it is almost finished, just the roof, but it takes a long time to glue all those tiles and also to make a nice finishing in the front to hide the open side of the tiles in the façade. Ah! and still finishing the ceilings of the first floor, but that will be only in the end.

In the ground floor everything is finished and in the first floor only the ceiling lights are missing, since the roof is not already finished....

I don´t like the hinges that are used to fixe the front of the house, so I use some magnets.

The ground flor is finished, with lights already installed. The first floor is in good progress, although some things are not glue in place...the baby room is finished, but the floors , tiles, etc, from the bedroom and the bathroom aren´t glue.

These are the pics to show how I am thinking to do the bathroom. Nothing is still glue in place, the floor isn´t finished yet. I don´t know if the mirror frames will be painted in blue as the other piece of furniture in the right wall...

The bedroom is almost finished, the wall were hand-painted and they are covered with stucco paste and after painted with acrilic water based paints. The floor will be in real wood, not this one. The bathroom isn´t painted yet, I just put all the things in it to see the effect. Today I went down town to buy lots of materials to work during the week-end, so new pics soon....

Just a few pics of what I have been done. This is the ground floor of a house at 12th scale, there is the kitchen, the living room and a terrace, which will connect to the garden. It is as a kind of country mediterranean style....more pics soon :). I am doing it for a friend.

Blue dreams....my new bed, this time it is a complete bed, not only the bed headboard. In a blue that remembers denim colour, I put here two examples of matching fabrics as bedcover, a dark one making more contrast and a lighter and more soft colour; as you can see I have here 4 different patterns fabrics, that match with the colour bed, to make your own bedcover and pillows. All, will be in my Etsy shop, very soon!

This is part of my week-end work. I have done this bed head-board, it is to be put against the wall with a modern sommier, fitting very well in a broad range of styles, that will depend of the bedcover, of course. I will be selling this piece and others very soon in my Etsy shop. I have also made another one , as a complete bed, but it needs to be painting.
