finishing the pieces for the fair

Beds need a cover and a few pillows, so I have done them for my little beds. (the covers need iron...), but I want to show the fabrics and colours I have chosen. Now i am going to finished a few more things. Not to much time to the fair!!!

I love teapots, in the real life I have a quite huge collection, most of them are in a cupboard in my living room....and last December, the very well known Brazilien miniaturist Regina Passy-Yip and her daugther came to Lisbon as tourists and I met both. Regina is the most sweet and wonderful person, we all had dinner here at home, it was just fantastic. of course she saw my teapot collection, and now she has made to me these wonderful tiny teapots, the gigger is just 1.8 cm, yes 1.8cm!!!!!! I am in love with all, just see the super tiny teapot in the lid of one of them. I want to make a cupboard similar to my real scale one to put them there.

Do you remember the 2 little greenhouse I bought a few weeks ago? This is what i made with the larger one. I hope you like it

just a few things...

I have been playing with that stuff for making molds, one part blue other white and I have now several molds...and here is the result. The bowls at the top right aren´t made with molds, they are an experience for making some "contemporary decorative ceramics", my own design....well I must improve, but for the first experience I like them.

Finished!!!! or not...

I have just finished the painted Portuguese style bedroom set, I am not sure if I am going another piece, probably a chest since this piece is very typical in this kind of furniture.

The photos aren´t very good, they were taken a few minutes ago with flash, but i want to show the final look of my painted furniture. The little bedside cabinet is almost finished and i am thinking in making another piece of furniture to complete the set. The frame is to put a mirror.

Look what I bought!!!

Last friday I bought these two greenhouses, the glass is very easy to remove if I want to create a wall, or to make a roof. Aren´t they great to make miniature scenes? I put a 5L bottle in the photo to give an ideia about the dimensions. I am really excited with these little greenhouses.

second attempt.....

Yes, my second attempt makes part of a complete bedroom set, ( I am still gluing the bedside cabinet .....) inspired in a Portuguese painted furniture from Alentejo. This furniture is typical from that region of Portugal and I think is lovely, so I decided to make a set to the fair. If you have time, search for images about Alentejo, the typical rugs from Arraiolos and also the painted "Alentejana" furniture. The pieces will be decorated in the same way as the chair, and the set includes the single bed, the chair, the mirror frame with a mirror and the bedside cabinet.

a first attempt.......

This is my first attempt to make a chair with a rush seat....I have learned the technique and understood a mistake I done, I think the second attempt will be much better (it is almost finished).

painted bed for a child room...

The bed is painted in in the front and in both interior panels, being the front more ornamented as can be seen from the photos. The colours, the aging and decoration intend to create a romantic style, but simple, for a little girl room. (click on the photos to make them bigger to see the details).
