I am making a new mini quilt in earth tones and I also want to share with all of you what I have learned, about doing these mini quilts.
I think it is important to have some tools, as those that you can see in the photos:
A marking pen with vanish ink
A metal rule
Very good pair of scissors just for cutting fabric
A quilting rule, the smaller the best
A card square with a square hole with the final dimensions of your tiny quilt squares, this is very important to have an idea of the final effect of your fabric (see images).
A Olfa circular cutter but this is opcional

First step
Cut squares in the choosing fabrics, with 3 cm side
Play with them, and make your final combination
Take a photo, very important! and if you want, this is important if you don´t have a studio where to leave everything for days (LOL)
Second step latter on....

Cruzes! Gabo a tua pacência!!! Vai ficar muito bonita, com cores outonais...
I love your color combination! I actually work in a quilt shop part-time and teach classes but when it comes to the mini ones, I can't seem to get the hang of it. I guess I'm so used to working with large squares and triangles. I'll be interested to see how this comes out. Do you press your seams open?
Jody
Yes, Jody, after finish each row i trim the seams and i press them very carefully. I also put a very light interfacing in each row. But I will put some photos of each step.
Hugs
